Elements no match for ProKASRO UV Equipment!

The Aaro Group recently completed a project for Hutchinson Builders as part of the Yeerongpilly Green Development. They were looking for alternative options for the structural refurbishment of an existing 100m long section of 1500mm stormwater culvert that was deemed unable to be excavated and replaced due to numerous site constraints. 


Aaro Group suggested the solution in this case to be GRP CIPP with KASRO UV curing equipment. In this case the UV double core 8 x 1000 W driven by the KASRO UV CCU was the perfect choice for the DN 1500 pipes on-site. In addition, the newly developed 1000 W bulbs which were used contain a special reflector giving approximately 30% higher energy output over standard 1000W bulbs. This guarantees a higher quality screening of the hose liner and a larger light cone. 


While the use of this equipment made it much easier than other options, the site still threw out plenty of challenges: 


The headwall outlet ran into heavy marshland on the Brisbane River so there was a need to build a coffer dam to give the site crew access to this end of the liner while dealing with the tides in the area. Bog mats were used to minimize the impact on the marshland. Besides a 100t crane was used to load the job and ensure not to damage any of the local trees. To cap it off, Cyclone Oma formed during the planned window for the works and the workers were monitoring its path through the setup process to ensure a safe and true liner cure. All in all, a great project completed by Aaro Group in difficult circumstances using ProKASRO UV equipment
